Help me identify this elusive game!

This mystery game has been eluding me for many years! You may be able to help me find it. What I remember of this mystery game probably has some inaccurate details, but here is what I do remember of it. The platform was PC. The game is old, probably made some time between 1990 and 2006 (it could be older than 1990, I really don't know.). Genre is Sci-Fi puzzle side-scrolling platforming (might have point and click elements.). Simple graphics 2d pixel, might be a ms-dos game. The OS I believe I played it on was Windows XP. I'll also provide some mock-ups of what I remember.
The game starts with the player standing to the left side of the screen on what seems like a moon surface (I don't remember what the player's character looked like). The background is black with some white dots as stars.

Walking to the right takes you to the 2nd screen where you find an alien plant that resembles a cactus. Interacting with it causes a tentacle to come out and grab the player resulting in a game over.

The 3rd screen has a pit and a moving platform that is used to cross over the pit (I remember there was a lever that might have controlled the platform somehow).

The 4th screen shows what looks like the entry to a base.

The 5th screen is the inside of the base, I believe there were 3 doors that the player can enter.

This game may have been on demo discs, I remember seeing a main menu that looked like an overhead view of a town and you would click on buildings to open a selection of games (I don't know if it was actually on a demo disc, That may not be related to this game.). This game may even be lost media at this point.

I know for sure that this game existed, and is not a false memory. Because when I was younger (when I first played it) I drew stick figures based on the game. I wont be posting any of the pictures because they also have personal stuff around them, and I don’t think doxing myself would be a good idea. And they wont help much in searching for the game anyway. Outside of proving this game once existed like I said before, these stick character drawings lack any details that would be useful. The only detail that might be useful is the 5th image might have a fire alarm related to it some how.

My best lead so far is The Adventures of Captain Comic. There is a space level that seems similar to what I remember. But this doesn't explain the cactus, or moving platform. It's possible I played Captain Comic, and another game that was similar. I remember the moving platform, and cactus in particular because these obstacles were hard to pass as a kid who didn't know what they were doing. So even if I did play Captain Comic that still doesn't explain what game(s) the that cactus was in, or what that town menu screen is from.
