The Sinjoh Ruins

The Sinjoh Ruins is a place in Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver.
This location is outside the normal region map, and can only be accessed by having an Arceus obtained from a distribution event or the Hall of Origin.
Unfortunately The Hall of Origin can't be legitimately accessed, accessed required the Azure Flute a distribution item that was never released.

During the event the player is able to pick one of 3 Pokemon Palkia, Dialga, or Giratina.
Arceus will then preform a strange ritual, thus creating an egg containing that selected Pokemon.

What makes this event strange is that it's the first time the player is able to create a legendary Pokemon from an egg and obtain it at level 1 (Other than Phione who is normally the only legendary Pokemon that can be obtained from breeding).

But that's not the only thing that's odd about this event.
During the event's cut scene many photos of the real world are shown, This makes the event feel very sureal.
This is one of the very few times the real world is referenced in Pokemon.
Real world references in Pokemon (or nintendo games in general.) could be a Gaming Oddities entry in itself.

When you think about everything that happens during this event: The fact the location is outside of the normal map in an unknown region, The strange ritual, Obtaining a legendary Pokemon from an egg, The real world photos, It all makes for a very strange and sureal atmosphere.

Notes

Back when I played SoulSilver I remember spending a lot of time at the Sinjoh Ruins, searching for any eastereggs that might be there.
Once I discoverd the secret radio station I was convinced there were deeper secrets to be revealed.
But of course in usual Ninendy fashion there were no secrets beyond the radio station itself.
However once I had played through the event I felt satisfied, as if the Arceus event was the conclusion to the Sinjoh Ruins mysteries.
