Welcome to Gorm’s Game Awards! The premier (and only) event where your favorite games actually get the recognition they deserve, And let me tell you they WILL get what they deserve.
Each year, Gorm drags himself out of his pizza and popcorn filled lair, shakes off the Doritos dust to grudgingly bestow honors upon the worthy, brave, or lucky enough to have earned them. No corporate sponsors, no 17 minute trailers just pure, unfiltered chaos and questionable judging.
Expect zero filter, maximum grumbling, and awards decided by such scientific criteria as “this game is putrid.”, “this game has the good smells.”, “Wasted My Life the Most”, or “It bluescreend.”
No ads disguised as world premieres. Just Gorm, some questionable categories, and the occasional roar of disapproval.
He’s not here for your feelings. He’s here because the mountain of review copies finally collapsed and buried his favorite nap spot, And his favorite piracy website is offline. He has zero tolerance for microtransaction excuses, and if you're very lucky Gorm might not set the stage on fire when he disagrees with the fan vote.
Let the dubious judging… begin!
This year was a bit dry, but we did have some big awards to give anyway.
Starting off we have 2 games that get the same awards.
Both Expedition 33 and Arc Raiders get the I Heard It Was Good But I Didn't Play It award! That's right I haven't played ether of them so im leaving this one to the fans.
---- Up Next ----
Next one I don't have much to say about but it's a good one regardless.
Death Stranding 2 gets the Most Kojima award!
---- Up Next ----
Next we have 2 that get the award for Biggest Budget Flop
Assassin's Creed Shadows and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7!
---- Up Next ----
This game is very well known among all EPIC GAMERS! And was revolutionary with it's unique gameplay.
This year the winner of The Most Fascist Developer award is Mojang! *claps*
That's right the (current) developer of Minecraft the famous voxel game.
The decision was an easy one after they demanded that server owners remove the player’s right to free-speach. Only a company owned by Microsoft could be so authoritarian.
This next game is a bit late to the party, but we (by “we” I mean I) had to include it anyway.
Winner of the Labor of Love award goes to Terraria!
Another easy choice after the game's 4th final update released 1.4.5 Bigger & Bolder.
Perhaps Terraria will join us again next year after the 7th final update!
This game has been so pro-consumer it set the standerd, and is a resplendent example to other live service games.
After 12 years this game is still undefeated in the live service scene.
Winner of the Best Live Service game is WARFRAME!
The next game actually wins several awards!
And it’s a fan favorite among many readers for many years.
Winner of the BIG 3 awards:
1 Worst Technical Performance.
2 Most Anti-Consumer Systems.
3 Best 3rd Party Collaborations.
Is Fortnite!
That’s right, Fortnite had quite the year.
Lots of great collaborations now and more to come in the future.
I almost puked at the sight of the sidekick permanence mechanic.
Plenty of cool new game modes to explore.
I had to uninstall the game on PC after seeing it using 100% of my CPU and GPU sitting idle on the main menu.
